The Yadkin County Detention Center operates as a high-security facility for detention. It has the infrastructure to accommodate 72 males and 29 females who are incarcerated. It serves to detain individuals awaiting trial and those convicted for terms not exceeding two years. In 2018, the facility housed a total of 1755 inmates, while the average daily inmate count presently stands at 92.

The facility ensures the provision of nourishment, healthcare, and accommodation within a controlled setting. Inmate meal services are outsourced to Trinity, and Southern Health Partners are in charge of medical examinations and care. Prescriptions for inmates require prior authorization and are supplied by the facility's healthcare provider.

The policy of the detention center does not permit personal belongings from the outside. However, inmates may acquire personal items via the commissary vendor.

Visitation Regulations at the Detention Center

• Inmates can receive visitors on Thursdays at two intervals: from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Each inmate is entitled to one visiting session per week.
• Identification with a photograph is compulsory for all visitors prior to entry into the Detention Center. Children below 16 years of age must be under the supervision of an adult or guardian during visitation. The visitor must be listed on an administration-approved roster.
• Visitors are not allowed to bring mail during visitation hours.
• The facility enforces a strict non-tobacco policy. Prohibited items include tobacco, cell phones, and weapons of any kind. Attempting to introduce such items into the facility will lead to criminal charges.
• Individuals with outstanding criminal charges are prohibited from visitation in the facility.

Commissary Services

The Detention Center collaborates with Kimble’s for commissary services, allowing inmates to procure goods. An ATM Kiosk, situated in the detention center's lobby — which is accessible 24 hours daily — enables monetary deposits to inmates' accounts.

Alternatively, deposits can be made through JailATM.com. Kimble's IT Support is available at 870-627-5476. This service is operational around the clock.

The acceptance of money orders for inmate accounts has been discontinued.
